What Is The Film About?
The documentary will reflect on how the cat survival trust runs, the impact the place has and how they look after the cats as well.
This film will be split into three different sections about the cat survival trust. The first section will focus on how the owners run the place and the difficulties faced running the cat survival trust. The second section will focus on the positive impact the charity has for the cats and how they make the cats feel at home being accompanied by one another. The last section will focus on how they look after these cats and the difficulties they face looking after these cats on a daily basis depending on the cat's needs.
Each section has its own purpose. By addressing what goes on behind the scenes, the documentary will give a bigger insight of what the charity is there for and what they do to help these cats feel at home. This will encourage people to raise awareness to help give these cats a positive outlook on life compared to where they were originally from which is either roadside zoos and circuses.
Why Are We Making The Film?
The reason this documentary is being made now is because most of these cats are endangered or near threatened in the wild and it is important that these cats are kept in a safe environment without being harmed. Even though a few of the cats are classed as least concern, meaning they are not in a category of being a threat of becoming an endangered animal. No matter what the category is, it is important that we raise awareness for these cats to help to prevent them becoming extinct in the future which is why the cat survival trust was set up.
Welwyn Wild Cats will find an audience because it is important to people to understand not just about the cats themselves, but how they cope in a restricted environment as they can feel trapped at times not realising why they are there. Second of all, this documentary encourages people to picture the reality of the environmental world of these animals' minds considering its location. Although this documentary will have two sides from audiences as people may disagree that it's wrong to keep them trapped in cages and let them be free in the wild and on the other hand people may think it's the right thing to do to prevent them going extinct.
